Glue & Preservative

Most people have come into contact with glue before and used it to join different materials. There are different types of glue, such as drying glue and hot melt glue. Hot melt adhesives work by heating the adhesive so that it melts and when it cools it becomes rigid and holds the glued material together. Drying glue is not dependent on temperatures but is often aqueous and when the water evaporates, the glue becomes hard and sticks together.

Here we have, among other things, fish glue from Sennelier, which is a drying glue made from, among other things, fish skin. This is one of the oldest types of glue that people have used throughout history and fish glue has many different uses as it has good adhesive properties and dries slowly. It can also be diluted with water and used to preserve works of art.
