Fineliners
Most pens in this category are fineliners with fibre or plastic tips – thin pens that produce really fine lines. They contain a reservoir of quick-drying ink which minimises the risk of it smudging on paper. Some fineliners have replaceable cartridges, allowing you to continue using the pen after the ink has run out. The most common ink colour is black, but there are also pens in almost every colour you can imagine, bright colours as well as pastels. Perfect for colouring details! This category also includes technical pens with steel nibs.
We stock several variants of fineliners in a range of widths, from 0.03 mm to 1.2 mm. The millimetre size indicates the pen tip, not the line width; these are often slightly thinner. To make your fineliner tip last as long as possible, it's good to avoid pressing too hard when writing or drawing, but use the pen with a light touch. The tip's durability can also depend on the surface of the paper you use – the rougher the surface, the faster the tip wears out.
The vast majority of our fineliners have water-based ink. These pens give an even line and don't bleed through the paper. If you're into the popular hobby of Bullet Journaling (also called BuJo) and don't want your illustrations in your notebook to bleed through to the next page, these are perfect! There are also fineliners with oil-based ink that can be used on most glossy surfaces without smudging. They are not recommended for painting or writing in notebooks with thin pages, but are best suited for other surfaces than paper where water-based fineliners are difficult to use.

Fineliners can be used together with alcohol-based markers to fill in outlines or mark details. They also work well with watercolour painting for similar purposes as with markers.
