Give acrylic paint a thicker consistency and create defined textures with Liquitex Professional Liquithick Additive. The additive thickens acrylic paint and acrylic mediums, allowing you to adjust the consistency to suit your technique and desired effect. The more you add, the thicker the paint becomes – from a fuller consistency to an airy, almost sculptural texture.

Liquithick Additive maintains the colour and transparency of the paint while providing a matt finish when dry. The additive is ideal for building texture, creating defined brushstrokes and working with thicker layers of paint. It can be used with both brushes and palette knives to create texture and volume.

Mix a small amount of Liquithick directly with acrylic paint or acrylic medium and gradually add more until the desired consistency is achieved. As the additive contains no acrylic binder, it should make up no more than 25% of the final mixture. For maximum strength and flexibility, allow the paint to dry for 5–7 days.
