PanPastel
PanPastel is a professional artists’ pastel that combines the intense pigments of pastel with the feel of painting with colour. Unlike traditional pastel sticks, PanPastel colours come in practical pans with screw-on lids. This allows you to pick up the colour directly from the pan and apply it to the paper using specialist tools, sponges or other applicators – much like working with traditional artists’ colour.
The unique formula gives PanPastel an exceptionally soft and smooth consistency. The colours are highly pigmented and made with minimal binders and fillers, resulting in pure, intense colours and less pastel dust than many traditional soft pastels. Each PanPastel pan also contains approximately 40% more colour than a traditional pastel stick.
PanPastel can be used for both drawing and pastel painting and is particularly well suited to creating soft transitions, gradients and larger areas of colour. The colours are easy to blend directly on the surface and can be applied in thin layers to gradually build up tones, shadows and depth. PanPastel can be used on its own or combined with pastel pencils, coloured pencils and other drawing materials to add details and create different effects.
Sofft Tools are specially developed for applying PanPastel. Using sponges and applicators in different shapes and sizes, you can pick up, apply and blend the pastel colour with excellent control. Larger tools are ideal for backgrounds and soft areas of colour, while smaller applicators make it easier to work on details and more precise areas.
PanPastel is available in a wide range of colours that can be used individually or blended together. The colours are available both individually and in ready-made PanPastel sets featuring different colour combinations. The pans can also be screwed together, making the colours easy to organise, store and take with you.
