Staff Picks

When I create, I like using materials that have a bit of a life of their own and bring a playful feel. Schmincke’s Super granulation colours react and shift in ways that let me spot patterns and images as I work, so I don’t always need to start with a clear plan. I just see what takes shape. I enjoy pushing the boundaries of the materials and finding out how they can be used in more “untraditional” ways. Gansai Tambi can feel like watercolour but also works like gouache, and Neocolor II works both as a crayon and as watercolour.
