Aqua Brique from Cretacolor combines watercolour paint and chalk in a versatile artist’s tool with high pigmentation and vibrant, lightfast colours. The water-soluble blocks can be used both dry and wet – as crayons, watercolours, gouache, or for airbrush effects. Their practical block shape allows easy colour pick-up with water or direct drawing on larger surfaces.
When warmed in a water bath, the blocks transform into liquid paint with exceptional brilliance and coverage. Aqua Brique is suitable for a range of techniques such as classic watercolour, sgraffito, frottage, blending, and monotype. The paint adheres to most surfaces with proper preparation – including paper, card, or wood – and washes easily from clothing.
The set includes 10 watercolour blocks in white, yellow, orange, red, blue, dark blue, green, dark green, brown, and black, together with a sponge. Supplied in a robust metal tin.
